Tabitha age 5 found at the wheel

Pottery wheel that is...my daughter Tabi has been asking to try her hand at pottery for quite a while. She saw a really inexpensive wheel at the hobby store and could not get her mind off of it. After a while I gave in and thought it would be really good for my busy child to sit, relax and sculpt a piece of clay into something meaningful ( at least to her and me)!
where is my artists smock?
almost, a pretty vase? a dish?
Or nothing...but a muddy mess? Well we learned cause and effect too! When you add too much water to the clay and put it on the wheel, after a while the clay does not hold it's shape and you have a puddle of clay. Sophie had fun rubbing her hands through the clay and we practiced letter writing. We had fun and I think that's the point at age 5 but she wants to try again soon and is excited to make a vase or something..anything.
~ she did make a tiny, tiny little dish but I couldn't get a great picture of it..next time~

It sure looks to me that she might have gotten close to making something! What fun!
She had so much fun!! Thanks Gina for stopping by!
I love the clay that came along with the set. It washed off really well and of course non-toxic as most clays are!
