“Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone-we find it with another.”  Quote Thomas Merton

My husband and I met 8 years ago this April. We were married on April 6th, 2002.  We met about one year before we "connected". Almost exactly one year after we met, we went on our first date and married 10 months later. He is so sweet and wonderful. I just knew he was for me. I was 35 and he was 39 so yes, we knew!!!!!!!!

One wonderful memory and evidence of our wonderful community of family and friends are the letters written to us, giving advice. I thought I would post a few here....

Advice/encouragement to the engaged couple:

"The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them." quote Thomas Merton

"May you both be full of patience, forgiveness, tenderness, every step of the way."

"May your wedding day be filled with awesome miracles and many more afterwards too."

"My advice to you, have lots of babies" this was from a friend who knows us very well & our age..... (we have two wonderful children. That's alot at age 37-39) ha

"Your husband is your partner and friend. Make time to do fun things together and always take the time to act silly and laugh together."

"I love the dresses...you have good taste. Thanks for inviting me to be in the wedding. Love, Love and Love and more Love."  ( little girl in my wedding age 7)

"keep Advil next to your bed, never have a headache"

Congratulations!

Good advice. The seven-year-old's comment was wonderful! Now THAT'S an affirmation -- to be told by a kiddo that you have good taste. ;)
